These ‘fresh truths’ include the idea, not taught in the Bible, that when we die a part of us survives and goes to heaven, hell, or some other place. They suggest that the above statements from the Bible, and others like them, are not to be taken literally, that they were written in another time and with a different purpose, that Christianity has moved on, and fresh truths have come to light. There are many today, sadly, who refuse to take the Bible at face value. We have so far looked at only two quotations from the Bible and already we are faced with the choice, either to take serious note of what this book says, or to refuse to believe what it is telling us. we have to do something about it if we want to be among those who receive the gift of eternal life. ![]()
